The 29-year-old World Cup winner’s future has been a relentless source of speculation in recent months after both he and Alexis Sanchez entered into the final few months of their contracts at The Emirates.
Ozil’s current deal is set to expire at the end of the season and it remains to be seen if he will pen an extension with the Gunners to keep him at the club.
The playmaker has been earning plenty of praise for his solid performances for Arsenal in recent months and he was once again impressive during the Gunners’ 2-2 draw with Chelsea at The Emirates on Wednesday night.
And former Arsenal star Henry has given his take on one of the longest running transfer sagas in living memory.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Henry said: “The contract is on the table, is he going to sign it?
“You can [say] also maybe that’s why there is a bit more effort at the minute and that’s why he wants to show everyone that he wants to stay at the club.
“Only he can answer that. When he’s on tune, Arsenal are not far from winning games most of the time.”
Ozil could feature for Arsenal when the Gunners return to FA Cup action on Sunday afternoon with a trip to Nottingham Forest in the third round.
The Gunners have won the FA Cup in three of the last four seasons and beat Chelsea in the final at Wembley last term.
