Guillem Balague gives latest update on Arsenal’s bid to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Guillem Balague says Arsenal have still not struck a deal to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with Borussia Dortmund
Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund are still “miles apart” in their valuation of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to Guillem Balague.
The Gunners have been heavily linked with a move to sign the 28-year-old Gabon striker in recent days as Arsene Wenger looks to bolster his attacking options at The Emirates.
It is believed that the north London side are yet to match Borussia Dortmund’s asking price for the attacker as negotiations between the two clubs rumbles on.
And Spanish football expert Balague has now delivered the latest update about Aubameyang’s link to Arsenal.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Balague said: “Aubameyang – still miles apart Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund.
“He’s in the squad it seems for the Freiburg game on Saturday. We’ll find out today, but the suggestion was he will be.
“It doesn’t make much sense for him to play because he’s told them he wants to leave. We’ll see what happens with that.
“The player will want Arsenal to sort this out as soon as possible. He understands this is a massive, massive investment.
“But at the same time he would like it sorted because he’s made it very clear he wants to go to London and to Borussia that he wants to leave.
“The suggestion from Borussia is that Arsenal don’t have the money.”
The Gunners have already signed playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Manchester United this month as part of the deal which saw Alexis Sanchez head to Old Trafford.
It remains to be seen whether Arenal will be able to bring in any more new players before the transfer window closes on Wednesday of next week.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are currently gearing up for their Premier League trip to Swansea City on Tuesday night as they look to try and break back into the top four.
The Gunners booked their place League Cup final on Wednesday night thanks to an impressive victory over Chelsea at The Emirates.
