Arsenal want to sign 20-year-old Brazilian to replace Sanchez – report
Arsenal want to sign Malcom from Bordeaux if Alexis Sanchez leaves the north London club this month
Bordeaux forward Malcom is Arsenal’s first choice to replace Alexis Sanchez if the Chilean leaves the club this month, according to reports in the British media.
BBC Sport is reporting that the Gunners would consider a move to land the 20-year-old Brazilian but only if Sanchez does indeed secure an exit from The Emirates this month.
Sanchez’s future has been a relentless source of speculation in recent months after both he and Mesut Ozil entered into the final few months of their contracts at Arsenal.
The same report says Malcom would be Arsenal’s prime target to sign should Sanchez secure a transfer away from The Emirates in the January window.
The story also says that Sanchez will indeed leave Arsenal this month if a suitable offer arrives and the Gunners are able to find a replacement.
It is claimed in the same article that Manchester City is Sanchez’s “preferred” destination this month should he leave the north London side.
The article says that there have been informal conversations held between Arsenal and Manchester City about the possible sale of Sanchez but no fee has yet been agreed.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are currently preparing for their Premier League clash against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
