Guillem Balague has revealed that Arsenal are hoping to sign three new players to revamp their Gunners squad in the January transfer window.

Arsenal striker Alexis Sanchez is being tipped to leave the north London side this month amid interest from their bitter rivals Manchester United.

Indeed, the Red Devils have managed to steal a march on Premier League leaders Manchester City with a financially superior offer for both club and player.

Sanchez’s team-mate Mesut Ozil has also been linked with a potential switch to Old Trafford, with both of Arsenal’s prized assets set to become free agents in the summer.

The Gunners are in the market to sign some attacking players to replace their key duo and Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is thought to be closing in on a move.

La Liga expert Balague revealed that Arsenal are hoping to add three new players to their squad in January to rejuvenate Arsene Wenger’s team before entering the transfer market in the summer again.

“Their idea is to get three players in this transfer window to start creating a new Arsenal,” Balague told the Transfer Talk podcast.

“A young, hungrier Arsenal. That’s their plan. Let’s see what happens at the end [of January] then some more in the summer.”

Arsenal signed France international Alexandre Lacazette in a £52m deal in the summer transfer window.

The Gunners added Bosnian defender Sead Kolasinac in a free transfer from Bundesliga outfit Schalke 04.
