Mark Lawrenson is backing Arsenal to return to winning ways in the Premier League by beating Crystal Palace 2-0 at The Emirates on Saturday afternoon.

The Gunners head into the game looking to try and get their campaign back on track after the disappointment of their 2-1 defeat at the hands of Bournemouth last weekend.

Arsenal are now facing a serious fight to try and get back into the top four this season, with the Gunners currently in sixth place in the table and a staggering eight points behind fourth-placed Chelsea.

Arsene Wenger’s men will have to quickly improve their form if they want to reignite their hopes of finishing in the top four this term.

And former Liverpool star Lawrenson is tipping the north London side to get back to winning ways by beating Palace in front of their home fans this weekend.

Writing in his column for BBC Sport, Lawrenson said: “Crystal Palace will be a tough nut for Arsenal to crack but I think Arsene Wenger’s side will manage it.

“The Eagles have only lost one of their past 12 league games – but that defeat came at home to the Gunners at the end of December.”

Arsenal finished in fifth place in the Premier League last season as they missed out on Champions League qualification for the first time under Wenger.

The Gunners have not won the Premier League title since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 campaign.
