Henrikh Mkhitaryan should prove the perfect fit at Arsenal, according to Pat Nevin.

The Armenia international completed a move to Arsenal from Manchester United on Monday evening last week.

Mkhitaryan completed a switch to Arsenal as part of a swap deal that saw Alexis Sanchez move to Old Trafford.

The new Gunners signing will be tasked with adding more creativity to Arsene Wenger’s side following Sanchez’s exit.

The 29-year-old revealed that he was a boyhood Arsenal supporter following the completion of his move to The Emirates.

Mkhitaryan moved to Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund in a £30m deal in 2016 after being named the Bundesliga’s player of the season.

Former Chelsea winger Nevin backed Armenian playmaker Mkhitaryan to make a swift adjustment to life at the north London club.

“Mkhitaryan is a very Arsenal type player,” Nevin told Irish radio station Newstalk.

“Man United didn’t get the best out of him.

“There is no reason that he should feel that his career, which was magnificent before he came to Man United, shouldn’t be as good at Arsenal if not better.”

Arsenal are in sixth place in the Premier League table and five points adrift of Liverpool FC, who occupy the final Champions League spot.

The Gunners signed Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette in a £52m deal from Ligue 1 side Lyon in the summer.

Bosnian defender Sead Kolasinac completed a free transfer to Arsenal from Bundesliga outfit Schalke 04.
