Paul Merson is convinced that Eden Hazard is the best attacker in the Premier League following his recent good form for Chelsea FC.

The 27-year-old has been earning plenty of praise for his performances for the west London side in recent weeks after having recovered from a serious ankle injury at the start of the campaign.

Hazard has scored eight goals and made two assists in 20 Premier League games for the Blues so far this season and he will be hoping to help the west London side finish as close to the top of the table as possible.

The Belgian seems like he is approaching his best form for Chelsea FC once again – and former Arsenal star Merson believes that Hazard has been trumping Kevin De Bruyne with his recent displays.

Speaking to Sky Sports News on Saturday, Merson said: “I think the’s the best [in the Premier League]. He does it on his own. Keven De Bruyne has a lot of quality around him. He hasn’t got as much quality around him [at Chelsea].

“He carries that team – you watch Chelsea, they literally wait for him to do something.”

However, Merson also predicted that Hazard could well be on his way out of Stamford Bridge this summer.

He added: “I think he’s one of the best in the world and I’d be shocked if he’s at Chelsea next season.”

Hazard will be expecting to start for Chelsea FC when the Blues take on Bournemouth at home in the Premier League on Wednesday night.

The Blues are currently in third place in the Premier League table as they at least secure Champions League qualification this season.
