Jamie Redknapp sends stern warning to Chelsea FC about Antonio Conte
The former Liverpool midfielder believes Chelsea FC will find it very hard to replace Antonio Conte
Jamie Redknapp has warned Chelsea FC that the defending champions will find it difficult to replace Antonio Conte.
The Italian coach inherited the Blues following their tenth-placed finish in the 2015-16 season.
Conte overhauled the Chelsea FC squad and masterminded their Premier League title success in his first season in England.
But the Blues manager is coming under pressure at Stamford Bridge following their 2-1 loss to Arsenal in the League Cup semi-final at The Emirates.
Chelsea FC have only managed to win one of their last six games in all competitions to raise further questions about the Italian’s long-term future.
Conte has made no secret of his discontent with the Chelsea FC hierarchy over the transfer dealings.
The club’s owner Roman Abramovoich hasn’t hesistated to swing the axe during his spell at the west London side.
Former Liverpool midfielder Redknapp warned that Conte would be difficult replace having already gone through a string of top-class managers.
“If they lose him, sooner or later you are going to run out of great managers to find – you’ve been through them all, really – and you’re going to be going round in circles,” Redknapp told Sky Sports.
“It’s a shame because he’s a great manager and they’ll certainly miss him.”
Chelsea FC are in third place in the Premier League table but 15 points adrift of runaway leaders Manchester City.
The Blues signed England international Ross Barkley in a cut price £15m deal from Premier League rivals Everton earlier in the January transfer window.
