Chelsea FC switch focus to 25-year-old Ligue 1 star to improve defence – report
Chelsea FC are interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain left-back Layvin Kurzawa, according to reports
Chelsea FC have switched their interest to Paris Saint-Germain left-back Layvin Kurzawa after becoming frustrated in their efforts to sign AS Roma defender Emerson Palmieri, according to reports.
Sky Sports Italia, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that Chelsea had agreed personal terms with Palmieri in a proposed double deal that would see Edin Dzeko also move from Roma to Chelsea.
However, the same article states that the defending Premier League champions haven’t been able to settle on a contract with Dzeko which has cast doubt on whether the double swoop will go through.
Indeed, the Italian media outlet are now reporting that Chelsea are interested in sign PSG’S 25-year-old left-back Kurzawa to provide Marcos Alonso with competition for a starting spot.
The French defender has scored five goals and has made two assists in 19 appearances in all competitions in the current campaign to establish himself as a first-team regular at Parc des Princes.
However, Sky Sports Italia go on to suggest that PSG would be reluctant to allow Kurzawa to leave given their participation in four competitions.
Chelsea will take on Premier League rivals Newcastle United in the FA Cup fourth round at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.
