Alvaro Morata has admitted to Chelsea FC fans that he is desperate to rediscover his top form for the west London side.

The striker has been struggling to find the net in recent weeks and once again drew a blank in Chelsea’s goalless draw with Leicester City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

It was Chelsea’s third goalless draw in a row and left them even more off the pace in the race for the Premier League title this season.

Morata had initially made a strong start to life in England following his summer transfer from Real Madrid, but the 25-year-old has now not scored in his last five games for the Blues.

Indeed, the striker has only scored twice in his last 10 outings for Antonio Conte’s men as he struggles for consistent form in front of goal.

And speaking to BBC Sport after Saturday’s draw, Morata said: “I want to score and play well. Sometimes we have a bad period.

“I want to finish this period. I want to score and help the team.”

Morata will be hoping to help Chelsea return to wining ways when they host Norwich City in the replay of their FA Cup third-round clash at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.

The Blues are aiming to progress through to the fourth round of the FA Cup, where a home tie against Newcastle United awaits.
