Antonio Rudiger sends message to Chelsea FC fans about Alvaro Morata
Antonio Rudiger explains why he's not worried about Alvaro Morata's lack of goals in recent weeks
Antonio Rudiger has insisted that Alvaro Morata has the full support of the Chelsea FC squad despite his dip in form in recent weeks.
The Spanish striker has been getting used to life at Stamford Bridge since signing for the west London side from Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.
Morata made a strong start to his Chelsea career following the transfer and netted a handful of goals in his first few games to help Antonio Conte’s men up the table.
However, the goals seem to have dried up for Morata in recent weeks and he had only scored three times in his last 10 outings ahead of the Premier League clash against Leicester on Saturday.
But fellow summer signing Rudiger has insisted that he has been delighted by Morata’s form and is backing him to enjoy a strong end to the season with the Blues.
Speaking in an interview with Chelsea’s website, Rudiger said: “The whole team is with him [Morata] and I think I can speak as well for the fans, they are also with him.
“I hope all the best for him and as a striker it is like this, sometimes you score, sometimes you don’t score, but his effort for the team is good and he always tries, and I think if he scores one again then everything will be fine.
“What I will say to him is to continue to work for the team as you always do and the luck will come again, so I’m not worried about him.
“We saw when he played against Bournemouth in the cup, he had one chance and he scored. When he does this again, everything will be OK.”
Chelsea now switch their attentions back towards FA Cup affairs and the replay of their third-round clash against Norwich City at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.
The Blues were held to a goalless draw by the Canaries in the original game at Carrow Road last weekend.
