The Belgian striker scored twice in the first half at Stamford Bridge to set the Blues on their way towards victory in the FA Cup fourth-round clash, before Marcos Alonso added a third after the break.
Batshuayi has been struggling to hold down a regular spot in the first team at Stamford Bridge this season but he has had more of a role in recent weeks after Alvaro Morata’s back injury.
The 24-year-old has now scored 10 goals in all competitions for Conte’s men despite only having started three of Chelsea FC’s Premier League games this season.
And Cahill was full of praise for Batshuayi for the influential role he played in helping Chelsea FC progress through to the fifth round of the FA Cup on Sunday.
Speaking to Chelsea FC’s website after the game, Cahill said: “Individually there were some great performances, especially Michy.
“He works very hard and he took his opportunity. Sometimes when you start slow you need a goal to get you off the mark and that’s what he did.”
Chelsea FC now switch their attentions back towards Premier League affairs and their home clash against Bournemouth on Wednesday night.
The Blues head into the game in third place in the Premier League table as they look to close the gap down to the Manchester clubs.
