Jamie Redknapp heaped praise on Willian for another fine performance from the Brazilian in Chelsea’s 4-0 victory over Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday lunchtime.

The Brazilian attacker was restored to the starting line-up by Antonio Conte for the trip to the south coast and he did not disappoint.

Eden Hazard opened the scoring in just the third minute, and Willian made it 2-0 with a brilliant finish after some lovely play from the Blues in the build-up.

Hazard then put the result beyond doubt with a superb run and finish in the 77th minute to wrap up the three points for Conte’s side.

And Victor Moses netted his first goal in the Premier League for 14 months in the 89th minute with a solid finish to make it 4-0.

Willian has been in and out of the first team at Chelsea this season but the Brazilian staked his claim for a more regular spot with another fine display on Saturday.

And former Liverpool midfielder Redknapp was clearly impressed with what he saw from Willian in a Chelsea shirt on Saturday afternoon.

Speaking during Sky Sports’ coverage of the game, Redknapp said of Willian’s goal: his is brilliant. It’s a lovely piece of play [from Chelsea], little flicks… the ball’s moving so fast… Brighton are trying to stop it.

“It’s a brilliant finish by Willian, it really is.

“This is total football. It doesn’t matter what system you play, you’re struggling to stop that.”

Chelsea now switch their attentions towards the second leg of their League Cup semi-final clash against Arsenal on Wednesday night.
