Antonio Conte has hinted that Cesc Fabregas could be available for Chelsea FC’s clash with Newcastle United in the FA Cup on Sunday at Stamford Bridge.

The Spanish midfielder has been missing due to an injury in recent games and sat out the League Cup semi-final loss to Arsenal in midweek.

However, the 30-year-old returned to training with his Chelsea FC team-mates last week as he closes in on a comeback for the west London side.

And Conte has revealed that Fabregas is close to making his comeback for the Blues.

Speaking about Fabregas at his pre-match news conference at Cobham on Friday afternoon, Conte said: “Fabregas trained today with us, and tomorrow [Saturday] I will check his physical condition. It’s good news for us.”

Willian will miss the game after picking up an injury against Arsenal in midweek, while Alvaro Morata is still struggling with a back injury.

The Blues are aiming to go one step further and win the FA Cup this season after they were beaten in the final by Arsenal at Wembley last term.

Chelsea FC have already been busy in the January transfer window after having signed midfielder Ross Barkley from Everton at the turn of the year.

The west London side are third in the Premier League table as they look to at least finish in the top four this term.
