Chelsea are hoping that Eden Hazard will commit his future to Chelsea and sign a new contract worth £300,000 a week, according to reports in the British media.

The Daily Express is reporting that the Belgian playmaker has been locked in talks with the west London side about the possibility of signing a new contract at Stamford Bridge.

The same report says that Hazard has been a long-term target for Real Madrid but the Spanish club are “reluctant” to spend the reported £120m it would cost them to land the 27-year-old attacker.

Chelsea are thought to be keen to get Hazard to sign a new contract with the west London side, despite his current deal not being set to expire until the summer of 2020.

Should Hazard sign the £300,000 a week deal on offer from the Blues, it would make him the highest-paid player in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Hazard could be set to feature for Chelsea when the Blues take on Arsenal in the first leg of their League Cup semi-final clash against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.

Hazard was on target from the penalty spot as Chelsea sealed a 2-2 draw with the Gunners at The Emirates in the Premier League last week.
