Antonio Conte fires warning at Eden Hazard ahead of Arsenal v Chelsea FC
Antonio Conte warns Eden Hazard that he must "forget" about his display against Brighton as he prepares for Chelsea's trip to Arsenal
Antonio Conte has warned Eden Hazard that he must “forget” his impressive performance for Chelsea FC against Brighton on Saturday and now focus on the Blues’ crunch clash with Arsenal next week.
The 27-year-old playmaker was back to his imperious best on Saturday afternoon as he helped to inspire Chelsea to victory at Brighton.
Hazard scored Chelsea’s first and third goals as the Blues ran riot on the south coast and claimed all three points to move up to third in the table.
Willian and Victor Moses also got on the score-sheet for Conte’s men in a dominant 4-0 victory on the south coast.
Chelsea will now switch their attentions back towards League Cup affairs and the return leg of their semi-final clash against Arsenal at The Emirates on Wednesday night.
And Conte has warned Hazard and his team-mates that they have no time to dwell on Saturday’s win as they prepare for their next game.
Speaking at his post-match news conference on Saturday, Conte said: “He scored twice and for us it is important that they score, but at the same time from tomorrow every single player that scored today has to forget and start again against Arsenal.
“This is the most important thing , it is another important game.”
Chelsea’s win was their first in the Premier League in 2018 as they look to try and at least finish in the top four this season.
Hazard has now scored eight goals in the Premier League in 20 appearances for Chelsea so far this season.
