Eden Hazard sends message to Michy Batshuayi after Chelsea FC’s 4-0 win at Brighton
Eden Hazard heaps praise on Michy Batshuayi following his top display for Chelsea FC at Brighton on Saturday
Eden Hazard praised Michy Batshuayi for his performance in Chelsea FC’s dominant 4-0 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The Belgian striker has come in for his fair share of criticism in recent weeks for failing to produce in front of goal when called upon by Antonio Conte.
Batshuayi has struggled to hold down a regular spot in the first team at Chelsea since his move to Stamford Bridge from Marseille back in the summer of 2016.
However, he was called upon by Conte for Saturday’s game due to Alvaro Morata’s suspension.
Batshuayi linked up well with Chelsea’s front line on Saturday afternoon and notched up an assist for Willian despite not getting on the score-sheet himself.
And Hazard, who was named as the man of the match for a sparkling display on the south coast, was full of praise for Batshuayi following his performance for the Blues.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Hazard said: “We started the game very well.
“The combination with Michy, Willian and me, even the midfield, was brilliant.
“We need to do more like this week after week.”
Both Batshuayi and Hazard will be hoping to feature for Chelsea when the Blues return to League Cup action on Wednesday night with the return leg of their semi-final clash against Arsenal.
The two London sides drew 0-0 in the first leg at Stamford Bridge earlier this month.
