Chelsea FC agree £44m double deal for next two January signings – report
Chelsea FC have agreed a £44m deal to sign both Edin Dzeko and Emerson Palmieri from Roma, say reports
Chelsea FC have agreed a £44m double deal to sign Edin Dzeko and Emerson Palmieri from Roma and hope to conclude the transfer before next week’s deadline, according to reports in the British media.
The Guardian is reporting that the Blues have had a bid of £44m plus add-ons of £13.2m accepted by the Italian side as they look to try and get the deal over the line this month.
The same report says that a deal to land Brazilian defender Palmieri will be “straightforward” but the Blues will have to do more to try and convince Dzeko that a move back to the Premier League is the right one for him.
The story says that Chelsea FC are willing to bend their own rules and offer Dzeko a contract until 2020, despite their usual policy of only giving one-year contracts to players over the age of 30.
The same article says that the Blues have offered Roma Michy Batshuayi on loan as part of the deal but that the Italian club are exploring other options should Dzeko indeed leave this month.
Chelsea FC have already been busy in the January transfer window after having concluded a deal to sign midfielder Ross Barkley from Everton.
