Chelsea FC are considering making a move to try and sign Olivier Giroud from Arsenal in the January transfer window, according to reports in the British media.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Blues are weighing up an attempt to try and persuade the France international to leave Arsenal and join their bitter London rivals.

Giroud has found his first team opportunities to be limited this season, with the 31-year-old having only started one of Arsenal’s 24 Premier League games so far this term.

The same report says that Giroud is among Chelsea FC’s “many options” as the west London side look to strengthen their attacking options in the mid-season transfer window.

The story says that Chelsea FC have “explored” the possibility of trying to sign Giroud this month as Conte looks for a new target man up front.

Meanwhile, Conte his currently preparing his Chelsea FC side for their fourth-round FA Cup clash against Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

The Blues are aiming to get back to winning ways after the disappointment of being knocked out of the League Cup at the semi-final stage by Arsenal in midweek.

Chelsea FC are currently in third place in the Premier League table.
