Antonio Conte reveals whether Chelsea FC will sign more players this month
Antonio Conte hints that Chelsea FC could yet sign some more players before the January transfer deadline
Antonio Conte has hinted that Chelsea FC could yet bring in some more players before the close of the January transfer window next week.
The Blues have already been busy this month after having snapped up the signing of midfielder Ross Barkley from Everton at the start of the year.
Chelsea FC continue to be linked with a host of other players, however, as the Blues ponder adding further depth to their squad ahead of the transfer deadline.
It remains to be seen whether the Blues will indeed be signing any more players this month or not, but Conte seems to be relaxed about the situation as a whole.
Speaking at his pre-match news conference at Cobham on Friday, Conte said: “As you know very well, the news about the transfer market is for the club. The club will inform you if there is news.
“I am the coach, and my task is to try to do the best for this club and try to improve my players for this club.
“As I have said before, and I am repeating every three days, I will be very happy to continue working with my players, and I will be very happy if there are some new players. My mind doesn’t change after only three days.”
Conte is currently preparing his Chelsea FC side for their FA Cup fourth-round clash against Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.
The Blues head into the game looking to bounce back to winning ways after the disappointment of losing their League Cup semi-final at the hands of Arsenal in midweek.
Chelsea FC are third in the Premier League table as they look to try and qualify for the Champions League once again under Conte this term.
