Insider: Chelsea FC have agreed personal terms with top striker
Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri delivers the latest update on the reports linking Edin Dzeko to Chelsea FC
Chelsea FC have agreed personal terms with Edin Dzeko with a view to a January transfer from Roma, according to journalist Tancredi Palmeri.
There have been conflicting reports about the proposed move for Dzeko to move to Chelsea FC in the current window, with the Daily Star reporting on Monday that the deal was off.
The Blues have been heavily linked with a move to bring the 31-year-old striker to Stamford Bridge in recent days as Antonio Conte looks to bolster his attacking options before Wednesday’s deadline.
Now, Italian journalist Palmeri has claimed that the only hold-ups in the Dzeko deal is the addition add-on fees and the fact that Roma are struggling for form at the moment.
Palmeri wrote on Twitter on Monday: “Chelsea and Dzeko have found agreement on personal terms.
“Chelsea and Roma have found agreement on the cash fee, not yet the add-ons.
“But what’s the holding? The Roma crisis. Roma just lost 0-1 with Sampdoria. 7 games in a row with no wins. Roma management fearing fans fallout.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea FC booked their place in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Sunday when they secured a 3-0 victory over Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge.
The west London side are now preparing for their home Premier League clash against Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night as they look to keep pace with the two Manchester clubs above them in the table.
Chelsea FC will take on FC Barcelona in the last 16 of the Champions League next month.
