Chelsea FC agree fee to land striker as second January signing – report
Chelsea FC have agreed a "basic" £28m fee with Roma for the signing of Edin Dzeko, say reports
Chelsea FC have agreed a fee with Roma to sign Edin Dzeko in the January transfer window, according to reports in the British media.
The Sun, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Blues have been in talks with the Italian side about signing the 31-year-old striker this month.
The same report says that Chelsea have agreed a “basic fee” of £28m with Roma for the former Manchester City striker as Antonio Conte looks to bolster his strike-force this month.
The story also claims that negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing and that Dzeko’s transfer to Chelsea is likely to cost the west London side upwards of £30m in the end.
The same story also says that Chelsea are close to securing the signature of Dzeko’s Roma team-mate Emerson Palmieri.
Chelsea have already been busy in the January transfer window after having secured the signing of midfielder Ross Barkley from Everton on a long-term contract at the turn of the year.
Meanwhile, Conte is currently preparing his side for the second leg of their League Cup semi-final clash against Arsenal at The Emirates on Wednesday night.
The two London sides played out a goalless draw in the first leg at Stamford Bridge earlier this month.
