Chelsea FC are prepared to pay up to £44m to secure the signing of Edin Dzeko from Roma this month, according to Sky Sports News reporter Bryan Swanson.

The west London side have been linked with a host of players this month as Antonio Conte looks to strengthen his side ready for the second half of the season.

Chelsea FC have already been busy in the January transfer window after completing the signing of midfielder Ross Barkley from Everton at the turn of the year.

However, the Blues are still believed to be on the lookout for a new striker this month as Conte looks at bolstering his options up front.

Former Manchester City striker Dzeko has been touted as a possible signing for the Blues this month as Conte looks to significantly add to his squad in the January transfer window.

And Sky Sports News reporter Swanson has seemingly confirmed that the Blues are indeed interested in signing the Bosnian forward this month.

Speaking to Sky Sports News on Friday night, Swanson said: “Chelsea want to sign another striker this month and our colleagues in Italy say that they are ready to pay around £44m for Edin Dzeko.”

Chelsea now switch their attentions back towards League Cup affairs and their semi-final clash against Arsenal at The Emirates on Wednesday night.

The two teams played out a goalless draw in the first leg at The Emirates earlier in the month.
