Brazilian agrees four-year deal to become Chelsea FC’s second signing – report
Emerson Palmieri has agreed personal terms with Chelsea FC ahead of his proposed transfer from Roma, say reports
Emerson Palmieri has agreed a four-year deal to become Chelsea FC’s second signing of the January transfer window, according to reports in the British media.
The London Evening Standard is reporting that the 23-year-old Brazilian has agreed personal terms on a move from Roma and he will earn around £42,000 a week at Stamford Bridge.
However, the same report says that a fee for the defender has not yet been agreed with Roma because the Blues are keen to conclude a double deal for Emerson along with striker Edin Dzeko.
The same story, though, says that Emerson is likely to cost around £20m as Antonio Conte looks to bolster his defensive options at Stamford Bridge.
Emerson is said to be due in London to undergo a medical and complete the formalities for his move to go through.
Meanwhile, Chelsea FC are currently preparing for the second leg of their League Cup clash against Arsenal at The Emirates on Wednesday night.
The two London sides played out a goalless draw in the first leg at Stamford Bridge at the weekend.
Chelsea FC warmed up for that game with an impressive 4-0 win over Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
