Emerson Palmieri has agreed a deal to sign for Chelsea FC from Roma in the January transfer window, according to Sky Sports reporter Aidan Magee.

The Blues have been heavily linked with a move to land the 23-year-old left-back in recent days as Antonio Conte looks to bolster his options at Stamford Bridge.

Emerson has only recently recovered from a serious injury and his proposed arrival at Stamford Bridge would add competition for Marcos Alonso at left wing-back.

Now, Sky Sports News reporter Magee has confirmed that the Blues have reached an agreement to sign the Brazilian defender, and he could be part of the deal which also sees Edin Dzeko head to Stamford Bridge from Roma.

Speaking on Sky Sports News on Friday, Magee said: “Sky in Italy are saying that Brazilian left-back Emerson Palmieri is part of the Dzeko deal and that the 23-year-old is happy with the terms of the contract he will sign at Stamford Bridge.”

Meanwhile, Chelsea FC are currently preparing for their FA Cup fourth-round clash against Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

The Blues are aiming to try and book their place in the fifth round of the FA Cup as they bid to try and reach the final for the second season running.

Chelsea FC will then return to Premier League action on Wednesday night with a home clash against Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge.
