Chelsea FC are looking into the possibility of signing Islam Slimani on loan in the January transfer window, according to reports in the British media.

The Times is claiming that the Blues are interested in signing the 29-year-old Algeria forward until the end of the season as Antonio Conte looks to bolster his attacking options at Stamford Bridge.

The same story claims that the move for Slimani follows Chelsea’s failed attempts to sign both Andy Carroll and Peter Crouch this month.

Slimani would be eligible to feature in the Champions League for Chelsea this season and the same report says that the Blues would be open to loaning out Michy Batshuayi for the rest of the season should it go through.

Slimani has scored one goal and made one assist in 12 Premier League appearances for Leicester so far this season, although he has only started two top-flight games so far.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are currently preparing for the second leg of their League Cup semi-final clash against Arsenal at The Emirates on Wednesday night.

The two London sides played out a goalless draw in the first leg at Stamford Bridge at the start of the month.
