Chelsea FC trying to sign 28-year-old striker from Premier League club – report
Chelsea are looking to try and sign Ashley Barnes from Burnley this month, according to reports
Chelsea FC are trying to sign Ashley Barnes from Burnley this month, according to reports in the British media.
The Sun is reporting that the west London side are working to try and agree a fee with Burnley for the transfer of the 28-year-old striker, who has scored three goals in 23 Premier League games so far this season.
The same story says that the deal is being brokered by super-agent Pni Zahavi as Antonio Conte looks to add some more fire-power to his squad this month.
It is no secret that Chelsea are on the lookout for attacking reinforcements this month, with the Blues have been linked with a number of players over the last few days.
The same article says that no fee has yet been agreed between the two clubs but work is said to be going on behind the scenes to get the deal done.
The story goes on to claim that Chelsea have turned to Barnes after failing in their attempts to sign a number of other strikers this month, including Andy Carroll, Fernando Llorente and Peter Crouch.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are now preparing for the second leg of their League Cup semi-final clash against Arsenal at The Emirates on Wednesday night.
