Charlie Nicholas predicts 30-year-old will score in Chelsea FC v Newcastle
The Arsenal legend is backing Pedro Rodriguez to get on the score sheet in Chelsea FC's win over Newcastle in the FA Cup fourth round on Sunday
Charlie Nicholas believes Pedro Rodriguez will get on the score sheet in a comfortable Chelsea FC win against Newcastle United in the FA Cup fourth round on Sunday.
The defending Premier League champions will be looking to bounce back from their League Cup disappointment on Wednesday night following a 2-1 loss to Arsenal at The Emirates.
Chelsea FC have been unable to beat their north London rivals in their last five meetings in all competitions over the past 12 months or so.
Antonio Conte’s side have only managed to win one of their last six games following five stalemates and their defeat at the hands of Arsene Wenger’s side.
Pedro Rodriguez should start against Newcastle following Willian’s injury setback in the Carabao Cup semi-final at the Emirates Stadium.
Former Arsenal midfielder Nicholas is backing Chelsea FC to ease to a comfortable win against Newcastle and is tipping Pedro Rodriguez to get on the score sheet.
“I think Chelsea FC will enjoy a relatively comfortable afternoon, especially if Alvaro Morata and Cesc Fabregas are available again,” Nicholas told Sky Sports.
“Newcastle want out of this competition with the issues they have in the Premier League, especially with a crucial home game against Burnley to come on Wednesday night.”
Chelsea FC won the Premier League title with two games to spare last season after finishing seven points ahead of Tottenham Hotspur.
The Blues will take on La Liga giants Barcelona in the Champions League last 16 next month as Conte looks to win the competition for the first time.
