The Spanish midfielder has been in good form for the Blues in recent months and has been earning plenty of praise for his performances for Antonio Conte’s men.
The 30-year-old has been a regular fixture Fabregas has scored two goals and made five assists in 25 appearances in the Premier League and Champions League for the west London side this term.
He seems to have won over Conte at Stamford Bridge and has started 15 of Chelsea’s 22 Premier League games so far this season.
And former Liverpool midfielder Redknapp is clearly a keen admirer of the former Arsenal captain as he lavished praise on the Chelsea star this week.
Speaking to Sky Sports on Wednesday night, Redknapp said: “I like the fact that Chelsea have that platform with Danny Drinkwater and N’Golo Kante.
“Fabregas plays slightly further forward – he’s the brain, he’s the one who’s going to slide in that ball quickly and release Alvaro Morata. Fabregas is really key in that role.
“I don’t like to see him play a deeper role, I prefer to see him up there where he can cause maximum damage with his range of passing. He can unlock any defence.”
Fabregas will be hoping to feature for Chelsea when the Blues return to Premier League action on Saturday with a home clash against Leicester City at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are currently in third place in the Premier League table as they chase Champions League qualification this season and look to close the gap to Manchester City down.
