The Spain international has struggled badly over the past month after the striker struggled to cope with the demands of England’s relentless festive schedule.
Morata moved to Chelsea in a £58m deal from La Liga giants Real Madrid in the summer transfer window ahead of the departure of Diego Costa to Atletico Madrid.
The 24-year-old scored 10 times in his opening 17 games in the Premier League but Morata hasn’t found the net in the last five games in all competitions.
Morata missed a host of chances during Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium earlier this month after the summer signing squandered a number of one-on-one opportunities.
Chelsea will take on La Liga leaders Barcelona in the Champions League last 16 next month as Conte looks to win Europe’s premier club competition for the first time.
Former Liverpool FC and Tottenham captain Redknapp believes Chelsea would benefit from sending Morata on a short break to allow the Spanish striker to recover from a demanding start to his Blues career.
“It is no surprise that Alvaro Morata is struggling for form,” Redknapp told the Daily Mail.
“Having played all his football in Spain and Italy, Morata is playing his first season without a winter break.
“He is not as battle-hardened as Diego Costa, the man he replaced at Stamford Bridge, while Michy Batshuayi is not trusted.
“At the next appropriate point — such as if Chelsea make the next round of the FA Cup — Morata should be given a week to go abroad and recharge. The club will reap the benefits.”
Chelsea are in fourth place in the Premier League table but 15 points behind current leaders Manchester City.
