Dennis Wise has named Sergio Aguero, Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy as three Premier League strikers who could improve the Chelsea team in January.

The defending Premier League champions are in the market to sign a new striker to add more depth to their squad and take the pressure off summer signing Alvaro Morata.

The Spain international has struggled with a lack of confidence and form in recent weeks to further underline Chelsea need to sign another striker to complement the 24-year-old.

Belgian forward Michy Batshuayi has struggled to make an impression at the defending champions despite scoring some important goals under Antonio Conte.

Chelsea were linked with a shock move to sign West Ham United striker Andy Carroll this week despite the England international’s long-standing fitness problems.

Former Blues midfielder Wise named three strikers that could improve the Chelsea team, although Leicester forward Vardy would perhaps be the most realistic target for the west London side.

“They could improve with Harry Kane [but] they’re not going to get him,” Wise told The Debate on Sky Sports on Wednesday night.

“Aguero would improve them. I am not sure they will get him. They would probably improve with Vardy.

“Who is better or can help Morata?”

Chelsea smashed their club record to sign Alvaro Morata in a big-money deal from La Liga giants Real Madrid last summer.

The Blues were heavily linked with a move to sign Romelu Lukaku but the Belgian forward completed a move to their bitter rivals Manchester United.
