Insider claims Chelsea star Eden Hazard will have to decide future between two clubs
Eden Hazard will have to decide whether he wants to move to Real Madrid or end his career at Chelsea, according to Kristof Terreur
Eden Hazard will have to decide between remaining at Chelsea for the rest of his career or pursuing an unlikely to move to Real Madrid, according to Belgian reporter Kristof Terreur.
The Chelsea number 10 is rumoured to be in the early stages of negotiations with the defending Premier League champions about a new long-term contract.
However, the Blues star has long been linked with a potential switch to Real Madrid since establishing himself as one of the best players in England’s top flight.
Hazard scored 14 times in the 2014-15 season to help Chelsea win the Premier League title and get his hands on the PFA player of the year award.
Current Blues boss Antonio Conte has overseen Hazard’s return to top form and the Belgian forward netted 16 goals in Chelsea’s title-winning campaign last term.
Hazard’s contract runs until 2020 but the defending Premier League champions are eager to sort out the 26-year-old’s long-term future now.
Belgian reporter Terreur revealed that Hazard is facing an interesting dilemma.
“I know Zidane has always been a big fan of Eden. But does he have an impact on transfer or will he even be Real Madrid manager at the end of the season if they get beaten by PSG and finish fourth in the league? I am not sure about that,” Terreur told the Transfer Talk podcast on Sky Sports.
“It is all in the air. He will make a decision after the World Cup. He has two options left to make in his career.
“He moves to Real Madrid, which I don’t see happening at the moment, or he stays at Chelsea for the rest of his career and signs a five or six-year deal.”
Chelsea are in third place in the Premier League table and a point behind Manchester United in their quest to secure a Champions League spot.
The Blues signed Hazard from Ligue 1 side Lille in 2012.
