Chelsea star Eden Hazard dream of Real Madrid move, claims insider
Belgian reporter Kristof Terreur claims that Chelsea forward Eden Hazard has always wanted to move to Real Madrid
Eden Hazard is waiting for Chelsea to offer a new contract, but still dreams of a move to Real Madrid, Belgian reporter Kristof Terreur says.
The Belgium international has been in eye-catching form this season to help Chelsea challenge for second place in the Premier League table.
The Blues were well off the pace in the title race with Manchester City clear of their closest rivals Chelsea and Manchester United.
Hazard has won two Premier League titles since his move from Lille in 2012, including their triumph under Antonio Conte last season.
The 26-year-old has scored 40 goals in his two title-winning campaigns, while he has got his hands on the Europa League and the League Cup.
Hazard has been regularly linked with a move to La Liga giants Real Madrid, but a move has failed to materialise thus far.
The Chelsea number 10 is rumoured to be ready to hold negotiations with the west London side over a new long-term contract.
Belgian football expert Terreur believes Hazard is prepared to sign a new deal with Chelsea but still holds a soft spot for Real Madrid.
“He is just waiting for an offer from Chelsea. They haven’t made a formal proposal on paper,” Terreur told the Transfer Talk podcast on Sky Sports.
“There have been talks between Eden and the board. There have been talk between an advisor and the board.
“There have been no real negotiations yet. Eden has always dreamed to play for Real Madrid.”
Chelsea are in third place in the Premier League table and a point adrift of second-placed Manchester United.
