Chelsea are still in negotiations with Edin Dzeko and AS Roma to make the former Man City striker their second January signing, according to reports
Chelsea remain in advanced negotiations to sign Edin Dzeko from AS Roma, according to reports in England.
The Evening Standard is reporting that the defending Premier League champions have shown an interest in signing the 31-year-old striker this month.
The same story goes on to claim that Chelsea are still negotiating add-on fees with AS Roma as well as debating the length of Dzeko’s contract with the Bosnia Herzegovina international’s agent.
The former Manchester City striker is thought to be open to a deal valued at £118,000-a-week if he signs on till 2020, or alternatively, a contract worth £84,000-a-week to commit till 2021.
The Evening Standard article goes on to suggest that Chelsea are willing to match AS Roma’s £44m valuation for Dzeko and Emerson Palmieri, but the Blues are reluctant to pay £13.2m in add ons.
Dzeko scored 50 times in 130 appearances in the Premier League during four-and-a-half seasons at Manchester City before his move to AS Roma in the 2015 summer transfer window.
The Bosnian forward won two Premier League titles, the FA Cup and the League Cup during his spell at the Etihad Stadium.
Chelsea won the Premier League title with two games to spare last season after finishing seven points clear of their closest challengers Tottenham Hotspur.
