Jamie Carragher believes that Roberto Firmino should always be the first name on the team sheet for Liverpool FC.

The Brazilian has developed into one of the Premier League’s top attacking players under Jurgen Klopp and he has continued his fine form for the Reds this season.

Firmino scored Liverpool FC’s second goal in their thrilling 4-3 victory over Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday as they became the first team to beat the Sky Blues this season.

The Brazilian attacker has netted a total of 17 goals in all competitions for Liverpool FC this season and he has been in top form for Klopp’s side.

And former Liverpool FC star Carragher feels that Firmino is not given enough credit for his strong form for the Reds in recent months.

Speaking to Sky Sports on Sunday, Carragher said: “He is the first name on the team-sheet.

“For Jurgen Klopp and what this fella brings… his hold-up play, his work off the ball… and now [he is] getting goals…

“He is one of the top attacking players in the Premier League but still not talked about with the others. He’s a top player.”

Liverpool FC are currently in third place in the Premier League table as they chase Champions League qualification for the second season running under Klopp.

The Reds, who finished in fourth place in Klopp’s first full season in charge, return to Premier League action on Monday night with a trip to the Liberty Stadium to take on Swansea City.
