Gary Neville heaped praise on Mohamed Salah for an outrageous goal in Liverpool FC’s 4-3 win over Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday.

The Egypt international was under added pressure to perform against the Premier League leaders following Philippe Coutinho’s £142m move to La Liga giants Barcelona from Liverpool FC last week.

Summer signing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain edged Liverpool FC into a ninth-minute lead with a low drive from outside the penalty area before German forward Leroy Sane levelled just before half-time.

Oxlade-Chamberlain teed up Roberto Firmino to score a brilliant chipped goal over Ederson to restore Liverpool’s 2-1 lead before Sadio Mane’s powerful finish extended the home side’s lead.

Salah, though, scored arguabky the pick of Liverpool FC’s goals after he seized on Ederson’s loose clearance and found the net from just inside the visitors’ half with the Manchester City goal vacated.

Former Manchester United defender Neville was full of praise for Salah after his brilliant goal sealed three points and ended Manchester City’s 22-game unbeaten run.

“Ederson really lets himself down but I have to say, the touch from Salah and the finish is absolutely wonderful,” Neville told Sky Sports.

Late goals from Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan created some late tension at Anfield but Liverpool FC held on to secure three points.

Liverpool FC signed Salah in a £39m deal from Serie A giants AS Roma in the summer transfer window.

The former Chelsea star has netted 18 goals in 23 appearances in the Premier League this season.
