Jamie Carragher makes huge Liverpool FC claim about Mohamed Salah
The Liverpool FC legend Jamie Carragher believes Mohamed Salah has made the best start of any signing in the club's history
Jamie Carragher has claimed that Mohamed Salah has made a better start to his Anfield career than any other Liverpool FC signing in the club’s history.
The Egypt international moved to the Reds in a £39m deal from Serie A giants AS Roma in the summer transfer window to bolster Jurgen Klopp’s attacking options.
Salah endured an underwhelming six-month spell at Chelsea in 2014 before the Blues allowed the African forward to move on loan to Fiorentina and then AS Roma.
The 24-year-old forward put to bed any doubts about his talent with 18 goals in 23 games in the Premier League.
Salah’s latest goal came in Liverpool FC’s 4-3 win over Premier League leaders Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday to end the Citizens’ 22-game unbeaten streak.
Former Liverpool FC defender Carragher claimed that Salah has made a better start than any other Reds signing in the club’s history.
“What a finish that was [against City],” Carragher told Sky Sports.
“What a player and what a signing he has been. I can’t think of a Liverpool signing who has ever, in the history of the club, made a better start.
“I can’t think of too many others who have made such an impact.”
Salah has scored 23 goals and has made seven assists in 28 appearances in all competitions in the 2017-18 season so far.
Only Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has scored more goals than Salah in the Premier League this term.
Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last term to secure a return to the Champions League after a two-season absence.
