Ian Wright is backing Liverpool FC to look to exploit Manchester City’s weakness in the Premier League clash at Anfield on Sunday.

The Reds are in fourth place in the Premier League table and 18 points behind runaway leaders Manchester City.

Liverpool FC lost 5-0 to the Citizens at the Etihad Stadium back in September, although Sadio Mane’s sending off played a role in the result.

Only Manchester City have scored more goals than Liverpool FC in the Premier League in the 2017-18 season this season.

The runaway leaders dropped points in their last Premier League game following a 0-0 draw with relegation candidates Crystal Palace.

Liverpool have won their last four games against the Citizens at Anfield, while Manchester City have only triumphed once at the historic ground in the Premier League era.

Former Arsenal striker Wright is tipping Liverpool to cause Manchester City plenty of problems at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.

“Liverpool tore into their defence. That’s what I can see them doing on Sunday,” Wright told The Debate on Sky Sports.

“Liverpool know where Man City’s weaknesses is. They are going to go for it.”

Liverpool FC were 1-0 winners against Pep Guardiola’s side at Anfield on New Year’s Eve in 2016 thanks to Georginio Wijnaldum’s winner.

The Reds finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last term to secure a return to the Champions League.
