Michael Owen is tipping Liverpool FC and Manchester City to play out a high-scoring Premier League game at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.

The Reds will welcome the Premier League leaders to Merseyside this weekend looking to become the first top-flight team to beat Pep Guardiola’s side this season.

Liverpool FC lost 5-0 to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium back in September to end the Reds’ 100 per cent start to the 2017-18 Premier League campaign.

However, Sadio Mane’s first-half red card on Eastlands contributed to Liverpool FC’s heavy loss to the Citizens in their top of the table meeting.

Only Manchester City have scored more goals than Liverpool FC in the Premier League this season, but Mohamed Salah has scored more top-flight goals than any Citizen player.

Former Liverpool FC striker Owen is backing there to be at least four goals at Anfield on Sunday when Manchester City look to protect their unbeaten record against Jurgen Klopp’s men.

“Liverpool will be looking for revenge after their 5-0 defeat at the Etihad earlier in the season, but make no mistake they were every bit as good as City until Sadio Mane was red-carded at 1-0,” Owen told BetVictor.

“It should be a cracker with plenty of chances and goals played in a white-hot Anfield atmosphere – I cannot wait!”

Liverpool FC have won their last four Premier League games against Manchester City at Anfield.

The Reds have scored eight goals during that run of victories over the Eastlands outfit.

Manchester City have won 20 of their 22 games in the Premier League this season.
