Ian Wright has revealed his delight at the way Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain seems to be improving his game at Liverpool FC under Jurgen Klopp.

The England midfielder made the controversial decision to quit Arsenal and sign for the Reds in the summer transfer window after spending most of his professional career at the north London club.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has been forcing himself into the first team at Liverpool FC in recent weeks and he was in fine form as he scored the opening goal in the Reds’ 4-3 victory over Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday.

The 24-year-old has now scored four goals and made four assists in 20 Premier League games for Liverpool FC since his move to Anfield, although he has only started eight games so far.

And Arsenal legend Wright seems to be delighted that the England international now seems to be finding some consistent form at Anfield, something he feels he wasn’t able to achieve at The Emirates.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 live, Wright said: “What we didn’t see from the Ox at Arsenal was consistent performances at the intensity and level we saw on Sunday. He couldn’t get his momentum going.

“What I’ve seen with the Ox at Liverpool is the intensity of performance and the ability to pass the ball forward. He will get better. He has the ability.”

Liverpool FC’s victory over Manchester City lifted them up into third place in the Premier League table.

The Reds return to Premier League action on Monday night with a trip to Swansea City in the top flight.
