Sky Sports reporter delivers latest update on Liverpool FC star’s link to West Ham
West Ham have not made contact with Liverpool FC about Daniel Sturridge this month, says Aidan Magee
Liverpool FC have had no contact from West Ham United about the possibility of signing striker Daniel Sturridge, according to reporter Aidan Magee.
The England international’s future has been a source of speculation in recent months due to his lack of playing time for the Reds so far this season.
With the World Cup on the horizon, Sturridge has started only five Premier League games for the Reds so far this term and has only made a total of nine appearances in the top flight so far.
His lack of game-time has inevitably prompted speculation that he could seek to leave Anfield in the January transfer window.
However, Sky Sports News reporter Magee has revealed that the Reds have not had any official contact from the east London side in the current transfer window with regards to Sturridge.
Speaking on Sky Sports News on Friday, Magee said: “Let’s find out exactly what’s happening with an England international.
“We’re told that Liverpool FC have received no contact from West Ham regarding Daniel Sturridge.
“The England striker has been linked with a move away from Anfield this month to try and get games ahead of the World Cup.”
Liverpool FC are currently preparing for their trip to Huddersfield Town in the Premier League on Tuesday night.
The Reds are in fourth place in the Premier League table as they bid to secure Champions League qualification for the second season running under Jurgen Klopp.
The Merseyside outfit ended up fourth in Klopp’s first full season in charge last term.
