Joe Gomez believes that Mohamed Salah has already developed a reputation that strikes fear into opponents since his move to Liverpool FC in the summer.

The Egypt international has been one of the Premier League’s finest attacking players since his arrival at Anfield from Roma last July.

Salah has been in brilliant form and has scored 18 goals and made six assists in 23 Premier League games for Jurgen Klopp’s men so far this season.

He has also struck five times and made one assist in six Champions League games for the Merseyside outfit to help them up into fourth place in the table.

And Liverpool FC defender Gomez believes that opponents have already begun to fear the attacker following his flying start to life on Merseyside.

Speaking to Liverpool FC’s website, Gomez said: “Even when the out ball isn’t on, it’s not on because they’re scared of him doing it so then it creates more space into feet.

“He has built a reputation that everyone is wary of. They know if they give him a few yards it’s going to give them a problem.

“It’s a massive bonus for us – and it has showed with some of the counter-attacks we have scored from this season. It’s another side to the game that can help us be a better team.”

Liverpool FC are currently preparing for their FA Cup fourth-round clash against West Bromwich Albion at Anfield on Saturday night.

The Reds head into that game looking to get back to winning ways after the disappointment of their defeat by Swansea City in the Premier League on Monday night.

Liverpool FC are aiming to try and finish in the Premier League’s top four for the second season running under Jurgen Klopp this term.
