John Arne Riise lavished praise on Andy Robertson following his sparkling performance in Liverpool FC’s thrilling 4-3 victory over Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
The Reds were in thrilling attacking form at Anfield as goals from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah handed Jurgen Klopp’s men victory over Pep Guardiola’s side.
The 23-year-old Robertson has been settling into life on Merseyside after signing for the Reds from Hull City in the summer transfer window.
He was in fine form against the Citizens on Sunday and his performance did not go unnoticed by a former Liverpool FC star.
Riise wrote on Twitter after the game: “Robertson has been brilliant today!!! Energy!!! Love it!! @andrewrobertso5 what a performance.”
Robertson has made one assist in 10 Premier League games for the Reds so far this season as he looks to try and hold down a regular spot in the first team at Anfield.
The Merseyside outfit now have the week off as they prepare for their trip to Swansea City in the Premier League on Monday night.
The victory over the Citizens lifted Klopp’s men up into third place in the Premier League table as they chase Champions League qualification for the second season running.
Liverpool FC finished fourth in the top flight last term.
