And former Liverpool FC chief Purslow has urged Klopp to make a move to bring in a top-class goalkeeper this month, with nether Simon Mignolet or Loris Karius being consistent enough in his opinion.
Speaking on The Debate on Sky Sports, Purslow said: “The obvious need is for a world-class goalkeeper.
“If there is one thing I’d like the [Coutinho] money to go on, it would be a world-class goalkeeper.”
Liverpool FC are currently preparing for their crunch Premier League showdown against Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
The Reds are out for revenge after they lost 5-0 to Pep Guardiola’s men in the top flight at The Etihad back in September.
Liverpool FC will take on FC Porto for a place in the Champions League quarter-finals next month.
