Thomas Lemar has already agreed to join Liverpool FC if the Reds can agree a transfer fee with Monaco, according to journalist Duncan Castles.

The Reds have been heavily linked with a move to sign Lemar in the last few months and Anfield was touted as a possible destination for the attacker along with Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

Lemar has scored two goals and made five assists in 16 Ligue 1 appearances for Monaco so far this season as the speculation about his future rumbles on.

The Daily Express claims that Monaco have upped their asking price for Lemar to roughly £89m as the Reds consider making a move to sign the France international.

However, although no deal has yet been agreed between the two clubs, journalist Castles claims that Lemar himself has already agreed terms to move to Liverpool FC should an agreement be reached.

Speaking on the Transfer Window podcast, Castles said: “Top of Liverpool’s list, we know they want Thomas Lemar.

“We know that Thomas Lemar has agreed to come to the club if they could meet Monaco’s asking price for a transfer fee that they haven’t been prepared to do because Monaco want over €100m.”

Liverpool FC have already been busy in the January transfer window, securing the signing of Virgil van Dijk from Southampton in a big-money deal.

The Reds also agreed to end the speculation surrounding Philippe Coutinho and sell the Brazilian playmaker to Barcelona earlier in the month.
