Liverpool FC need to sign a “top quality” goalkeeper and left-back to complete their team, Dennis Wise has claimed.

The Reds were 4-3 winners against Premier League leaders Manchester City at Anfield last weekend to end the Citizens’ unbeaten run.

Liverpool FC secured three points thanks to goals from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

The Merseyside outfit signed Virgil van Dijk in a club record £75m deal from Premier League rivals Southampton earlier in the transfer window.

However, questions remain about Liverpool FC goalkeepers, with both Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet struggling to impress at Anfield.

Alberto Moreno has also been erratic in his performances at left-back, although Scotland international Andy Robertson has impressed in his absence.

But former Chelsea captain Wise believes Liverpool FC still need to sign a proven goalkeeper and left-back to address the final two weak points in their team.

“Liverpool need a left-back as well,” Wise told Sky Sports.

“To improve the team and make it really good, a top quality goalkeeper and left-back [would be good].”

Liverpool FC will take on Portuguese side FC Porto in the Champions League last 16 next month.

The Reds are in third place in the Premier League table following their seven-goal thriller against Manchester City.
