Virgil van Dijk has hinted that he will be ready to make his Liverpool FC debut when the Reds take on Everton in Friday night’s crunch FA Cup clash.

The Dutch defender has been settling into life at Anfield after having signed for the Reds from Southampton as Liverpool FC’s first January signing.

The defender was not included in the squad for Liverpool FC’s Premier League clash against Burnley on Monday.

However, he has already begun training at Melwood and will be hoping to stake his claim for a spot in the squad for Liverpool FC’s clash with Everton this week.

And the 26-year-old has declared himself as fit and ready to feature for Liverpool FC following his move from Southampton.

Speaking in an interview with Liverpool FC’s website, new signing Van Dijk said: “I feel ready.

“Obviously I didn’t play the last two games for Southampton, but I feel ready.

“I am looking forward to getting stuck in, make sure I get my chance and just play.”

The defender, who is not cup-tied in Europe this term, will be hoping to help Liverpool FC once again secure a top-four finish this season and nail down qualification for the Champions League.

He’ll also be hoping to help the Reds progress through to the quarter-finals of Europe’s elite club competition by beating FC Porto next month.
