Steve McManaman replies when asked if Emre Can will still be at Liverpool FC next season
Former Liverpool FC star Steve McManaman believes the Reds will lose Emre Can to Juventus in the summer
Steve McManaman has admitted that he doesn’t believe Emre Can will be a Liverpool FC player at the start of the 2017-18 season.
The Germany international produced a man of the match performance in Liverpool FC’s 3-0 win against Huddersfield Town on Tuesday night.
Can broke the deadlock midway through the first half when the versatile midfielder’s long-range strike was deflected past Huddersfield goalkeeper Jonas Lossl.
Liverpool FC were 2-0 up on the stroke of half-time when Roberto Firmino finished from an acute angle to score his 11th Premier League goal of the season.
Can helped to secure three points when he won a second half penalty which Mohamed Salah dispatched from the penalty spot.
The 24-year-old has entered the final 12 months of his current Liverpool FC deal to raise the prospect of Can leaving the Merseyside outfit for nothing at the end of the season.
Serie A champions Juventus have been linked with a swoop to sign the former Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich midfielder.
Former Liverpool FC captain McManaman ruled out Can still being at Anfield at the start of the 2017-18 season.
“No. I think now it’s got this far, he will be leaving,” McManaman told BT Sport when asked about Can’s future.
Liverpool FC signed Can in an £8.75m deal from Bundesliga giants Bayer Leverkusen in the 2014 summer transfer window.
