Jurgen Klopp has appeared to rule out Liverpool FC entering the transfer market for a second time in January.

The Reds spent a club record £75m fee on Netherlands international Virgil van Dijk from Premier League rivals Southampton earlier this month.

Liverpool FC made the Dutch centre-half the most expensive defender in the world after seeing off competition from Chelsea and Manchester City.

The Merseyside outfit sold Philippe Coutinho in a £142m deal to La Liga giants Barcelona to leave a void in midfield.

The 18-time English champions have been linked with a potential swoop to sign AS Monaco forward Thomas Lemar and Leicester playmaker Riyad Mahrez.

Liverpool FC saw their 18-game unbeaten run come to an end last week following a 1-0 loss to the Premier League’s basement club Southampton.

Asked about the Reds making some further additions in the January transfer window, Klopp poured cold water on talk of new faces arriving at Anfield.

“It’s not really likely,” Klopp told his pre match media conference on Friday morning.

Liverpool FC are in fourth place in the Premier League table but three points adrift of Chelsea.

The Reds will take on West Brom in the FA Cup fourth round at Anfield on Saturday night.

The Merseyside outfit will take on Portuguese side FC Porto in the last 16 next month.
