Liverpool FC want to bring 22-year-old midfielder to Anfield this month – report
Liverpool FC are considering trying to bring Naby Keita to Anfield this month rather than the summer, say reports
Liverpool FC are to look into the possibility of bringing forward Naby Keita’s transfer to Anfield from RB Leipzig to the January transfer window, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mail is claiming that the Reds are considering paying an additional fee to bring Keita, 22, to Merseyside this month following confirmation of Philippe Coutinho’s transfer to Barcelona.
The same report says that Bundesliga side Leipzig, however, are not keen to let Keita go mid-way through the season.
The two sides reached an agreement for Keita to move to Anfield at the end of this season last summer but Coutinho’s big-money transfer to Barcelona is thought to have changed Liverpool FC’s thinking.
Liverpool FC are bound to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks after they netted a transfer fee reported to be worth as much as £145m for the sale of Coutinho to Barcelona.
The Reds booked their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Friday night with a 2-1 victory over derby rivals Everton at Anfield.
They are now preparing for their crunch Premier League clash against Manchester City at The Etihad on Sunday afternoon.
